I have successfully downloaded and installed a game but when I try to launch it it comes up with error access violation message. The computer is OK and all other games play without a problem. Any ideas!

Nope, no idea what the game is or what operating system you are running at all.

sorry it is Windows Vista and the game is large file one from Big Fish called Haunted Legends, Queen of Spades and yes I have contacted BF!
When you say you downloaded it, is it a legitimate version or have you found it on a torrent site?
Question Author
Yes its legit. Have been using Big Fish for at least 10 years!
Is the game compatible with Vista?
Question Author
.Everything else has been but I don't know how to check!
When you downloaded it, it should have a compatibility list, like 750Mhz processor, 20Mb of disk space and so on. Try going back to the site you bought it from and double check.
Question Author
so how do I find out if it is compatible or not, I do not know how many mb's the computer has and I wouldn't know where to start so perhaps you had better just give up on me (now you know why I'm "dopeycustard"!
I have found a fix of sorts for you here, looks like a lot of people have the same issue.

I know it's for a different game, but try it anyway.
