No way what?
Question Author
How did the contestant and the audience get that so wrong?
Sorry forgot it was on, so can't comment. Thought it was going to be something exciting.
Just shows the audience was influenced by the contestant's 'out loud' thinking. Not ideal to then ask the audience in this situation.
Question Author
Not exciting I'm afraid, just a "what the hell" moment.

The question was about the name of a thick Spanish omelette made with potatoes and onions. The contestant immediately ruled out the correct answer of Tortilla and the majority of the audience (52%) thought it was "croquetas".
Question Author
I understand what you say, Wiltsman, but Tortillas are widely sold in British supermarkets and Croquetas does not really require a translation, surely?
It amazes me how some people get on quiz shows and as wiltsman says contestants thinking aloud doesn't help if the audience has no idea. Thanks for the explanation.
Question Author

Question Author
Yes, that's seems to be the case here, Wiltsman, but then how many of those people in the audience have been to Spain and eaten Tortilla? Probably quite a few of them.

Bad again with the Beaufort answer. Motto, never trust the audience.
Question Author
To be honest, Sharon, if I were in the position of having no lifelines left and nothing to lose, I'd have probably guessed Beaufort. I would not have asked the audience on a question like that though.
With big money like that, I'm afraid I would take the money & run.
Question Author
I like your Avatar, Sharon. It reminds me of when I was in Cape Verde.

He was only going to spend the money on climbing a mountain anyway dispite being ouf of work!! Can't need the money that much.
You could almost feel boot contacting testicles when Jezza gave him the news.
