....Click on Tools/accounts....select the offending account from the list and click the Remove button...sounds simple enough....commoner
That is in Outlook Express...sorry forgot to mention that.
easiets solution (and best too i think), is to go into control panel -> users -> delete the offending user.
no what he means is windows xp is associated with his .net passport, that makes the logon screen show how many unread e-mails there are. i'm not exactly sure how you disable this though.
You can disable this by downloading Tweak-XP from the microsoft website. I can't remember the URL now because I've had it for so long, but it allows you customisation options that XP doesn't otherwise give you, and turning off the "X user has X number of unread mail messages" on the Welcome screen is one of the options. Do a search of the microsoft.com site for it.

Hi mobius do you mean the tweak U1 v 1.33 dp i need to download this.  Yes she did have a net passport and it is showing the hotmail email.  I do not use outlook express only outlook, but it is the hotmail emails that are there.
Yes, you're correct, I did in fact mean Tweak UI. I assume from that you found it. Download it and have a look through the various settings and you should come across a checkbox that disabled the message. Hope that helps, and sorry for giving you rhe wrong program name. Oops!

Hi Mobious i went to microsoft.com and read about tweak and it said it is not suitable for XP, so now what do i do.
I'm not sure why it'd say that. Have you tried downloading it? There are two versions, a standard one and one for 64-Bit Intel Itanium CPUs, and they're both right next to each other, so make sure you download the standard one.

To prove to you that it works perfectly and is meant for Windows XP I took a screenshot of myself using it with it showing the option not to show the mail on the Welcome Screen. You can view this shot by clicking the following link -
