Hi there.. Just wondered how you mine the 'red' stone I have an abundance of it in my world, but it doesn't give me any treasure ;-)

you need to use either an iron pickaxe or better. A stone one wont mine it.

Iv tried all the pick axes.. I can dig it up, but it doesn't give me any thing.. Not even a cube of stone... :-( !!

Redstone as I understand it is grey with red speckles in it. When you start mining it, it glows slightly and should drop 4 pieces of redstone gems.
