Af'noon all,

A friend's new partner is coming round for a meal but, she can't eat any of the following:

Onions
Leeks
Garlic
Peppers

I can't think of anything else to cook other than a roast as most things have either onion or garlic in them.

Can anyone suggest anything nice and tasty? My cooking skills are pretty good but not up to Master Chef standard.

Many thanks

Pasta shells with a creamy (without garlic) bechamel cheese sauce, and flavoured with salt and pepper and nutmeg would be a nice alternative. Gammon steaks grilled with a creamy mustard sauce and some rosemary, salt and pepper wadges on the side. A nice Fillet steak needs nothing more than salt and pepper I find, along with some grilled tomatoes and perhaps some well seasoned mashed potato. Cous Cous done with lemon juice and rosemary is nice for a change, and really refreshing too. Chicken thighs done in a home made half stock/white wine sauce and casseroled well seasoned with salt pepper and herbs once more, perhaps with some tomatoes through, or again some woody herbs like dill or roaemary - or thyme goes really well with chicken too. Goos luck!
I cant say I really cook any of them only on certain occasions. Try a carbonara but without any garlic. Just do a cheese sauce mushrooms and ham over pasta. Or a shepherds pie, spag bol without garlic or onions. Lasagne, Chicken and mushroom pie and vegies, Sausage Casserole or chicken casserole but just leave inions out. There are loads
Hi BuzzyB

Is that can't eat or won't eat? Some great ideas from Roosi, but if she dislikes the flavour those ingredients give, will she be any happier with anything with herbs or spices in it?

Looks like Pasta of some sort or the proverbial roast, although you could try sausages and mash with squash or beetroot or cheese in it with a simple gravy.

Af'noon all,

thanks for your suggestions. The gammon or chicken is probably the best option and coc coc plus a couple of other bits. I'm veggie so I can be more adventureous with my food. I'll do extra with plenty of garlic etc so the others can enjoy if they wish.

it would seem eating garlic & oinion causes one or two embarraising, smelly moments therefore avoided. I can understand this as it's a new relationship. I don't want to spoil something special cos I'm a garlic freak!
