i need 64 twelve inch tiles replaced in my kitchen had a quote from a tiler for two hundred and fifty pounds am i being ripped of

well maybe not if the tiler has to remove the old tiles, prepare the floor surface for new ones, cut to fit around edges and other obstacles, provide the adhesive and grouting and remove any waste. make sure he is doing all of that though

If he is supplying the tiles as well I think the quote is pretty reasonable,I wouldn't be upset at paying that amount for all the work as listed by dot.

thanks dot you have summed it up in a nutsheell will now probably let him do it and before anyone asks why i dont do it myself well the answer is my wrist is broken at the moment fell over tina my dog thanks a lot dotyou are always so helpful

If you are supplling the tiles then you are being ripped off.My dad until recently was a tiler and plasterer and there is now way on this earth he was earning over a grand a week -that job will be a one day (if that) job.

I am in the process of organising the renovation of my daughters flat and I have to be one step ahead ALL the time -suspicious by nature- but also know what the going rates are -so some have had a flea in their ear for trying to come it.

Best thing to do is try another independant person for another quote -you'll get them advertising in the Tele..

My friend had her bath taken out and a walk-in shower cubical put in it's place. Just to retile the wall either side of the cubical (five tiles high, six to the wall one side and four the other she was charged �250, there was no cutting or shaping and not much prep either, so I'd say you were getting a good deal

The tiler we use charges �20 a square metre
but supplies all the grout etc ....

Im hoping to get some tiling done soon and I will pay someone, why bodge it up myself when I can pay to have the peace of mind that the job will be done properly!

no its a vey small kitchen count it yourself 64 six inch tiles that is only round to the kitchen sink i had my big bathroom done for 3 hundred poundsand god knows how many tiles it took

hi dot i myst be getting dottiled in my old age it is a very small kifchen the tiles would be 4 high and 9 across to fill in the gaps it maybe i am drinking to much whisky
