Its a starch and not a veg. Also worthy of noting is that the 5 a day is the minimum one should have in a day!

what about mushy peas, part of the staple diet of us northerners?
And you can't count yam or cassava either for the same reason.......

If you've a family and want to keep track of the 5 a Day - download a free wall chart here:

http://www.5aday.nhs.uk/DownloadsResources/doc uments/wallchart.pdf

Tick the box to check the intake.

And fussy eaters can be tackled with a '5 fruit smoothie' - whizz the fruit and thats the portioning done for the day....
If they are made from peas - and I think they are....then mushy peas are a portion........

- but not sure if a pea fritter is really healthier than just a dollop of the things......
Because poor fat people would have a double bag of chips and say "Hey I eat my five a say!!!!!!"

One point to remember however is a glass of natural fruit juice is counted as one portion. But two glasses are also one portion and three etc.

Smoothies are different however as the whole fruit is used.

its hard though eating breakfast, lunch, tea and supper, as well as eating apples, oranges bananas, pears, pineapples etc, dont you agree?
No, I probably eat about ten portions, if not more 365 days a year.

If you do not like fruit and veg, however it may be hard.

But if you do......................have a glass of fruit juice and a piece of fruit for breakfast along with whatever.

A good handful of salad with your lunch

And just two veggies with your dinner

That is not hard is it????
I have to disagree with you sambro as I find it easy. My food for today has been
Breakfast - cereal with dried apricots sprinkled on & a glass of grapefruit juice
Elevenses - an apple (I wont mention the Kitkat & cake)
Lunch - Chicken salad sarnie (with lettuce, cucumber, tomato)
Tea - Pork chop with green beans, cauli cheese & spuds.

Thats 8 portions of fruit & veg without trying too hard.
