Just read about this in the News ! What on earth were the Parents thinking when giving this child alcohol at his age, his health was obviously not a priority. He has no say in the matter at that age ! duh

its disgusting but unsurprising. Hopefully the child can get some proper help now.
red......Mrs sqad has just read this to me...............................modern attitudes eh!
Shocking :-(
That's not modern attitudes Sqad....It's the attitude of someone extremely stupid.
How disgusting. I hope the parents are suitably punished - but I doubt it. At the least the poor little lad should be taken from them but too late for him by the look of it.

It is shocking I agree ! If he/she was a young teenager and been given a small glass of Wine with his or her meal I could understand where the parents were coming from !
I used to know a woman who got her daughter hooked on cocaine and cannabis at the age of 14, these types of scum do exist unfortunately.
ummmm

<<<<<<It was among 13 children under the age of 12 to be diagnosed as an alcoholic by the Heart of England NHS Trust between 2008 and 2010.
The Trust treated 106 teenagers between 13 and 16 for alcoholism over the same two years. Among them, 74 were admitted to A&E for emergency treatment because of the effects of binge drinking

It was not an isolated situation...........there is a modern tendency to use and abuse alcohol compared to 40 years ago.
Those damn modern attitudes........!

Sums it up pretty well jack !
Either way Sqad...It's the mentality of 'some' people...not modern attitudes.
poor kid
I blame the accessability of alcohol, it used to be available in pubs and off licenses only, now you can buy it from the corner shop cheaply. the last place I lived was an area of high unemployment, I used to live across the road from the shop and the drunks used to be waiting there every morning for their fix. alcoholism and drug taking were rife, the children had no chance of a decent future.
Question Author
As you say cazz, Alcohol can be bought so easily now compared to Years ago, one has to be fairly strong willed these days otherwise you get sucked into the world of Drugs and Alcoholism. It affects so many Families and it must be heartbreaking for those affected.
I love a drink myself but thankfully not an Alcoholic............well not yet anyway !! :-)))
i've missed this article but before you all get too uptight about today's society remember hogarth and gin lane.
lady-janine....yes.......that was almost 300years ago...........do you still think that is a relevant comparison?
I think that it illustrates that things, for some types of people, were everthus..........
