Hi i asked on here about smoothies before (as innocent count their smoothies as 2 portions of fruit in a serving but you are only supposed to count 1 juice per day) Anyway the consensus was that smoothies can count as 2 because it's whole fruit, just pulped/pressed. But now i want to know if i can have, say, an orange juice on top of that and count it as 1. So for example if i had the following :
1 glass of orange juice (1)
1 glass of smoothie (2)
1 portion of baked beans (1)
1 portion of salad (1)
I could say i've had my five a day?

My sister's inlaws lived healthily to their late 90s,. having been consumers of wine, fags, cream, CAKE, meat fat, etc., all their lives. My mum too lived to 93.5, much the same, except she ate a lot of yogurt....
if you are worried about achieving your 5 a day perhaps you should get a blender and make your own drink/smoothie (not a juicer because that removes the pulp)

there are many things you can blend up to make good 5 a day

such as all the 'sweet' vegetables, like carrrots, sweetcorn etc, can be mixed with fruit or for veg you can heat it up and drink like cup a soup,(if you dont like it just chug it down like medicine
or just blend up any fruits, add water if too thick.

i have also made a kind of pate or toast topper, with blended baked beans, onions, tomatos mushrooms...whatver really
even made my own 'jam' - blend up fruit and sugar free jelly (and perhaps some honey, suagr or sweetener depending on the fruit) and if too runny add a bit of cornflour...

if you consider foods that taste nice together this can be a good way.
much nicer than shop bought
funny I have GERD and Ibs and cannot eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and things like beans are off the menu, personally I try to eat as healthily as I can and I ignore the whole 5 a day mantra
