I thought it was like a baguette - warm your muffin, add hot beef?
Hi lisa. I haven't heard of beef muffins before but I agree they sound lovely, You've got me wondering what they are now.
That may have been me as we had them on boxing day as we had left over roast beef from xmas day.
I slice the beef then gently poach in left over gravy, saute a large onion till soft, then it is up to the individual whether they want their bread toasted or not and pile on the beef, serve with chips, yummy.
I thought it was something rude.....
As Boxy says baguettes are good too,
Tut, karen ;-)
Mystery solved, that sounds yummy mamya, alas no beef left.

Karen ???
We have beef left, plus some of that par-cooked bread baguettes - I feel an idea for tomorrow coming on (when I get back from the dentist ;-()
Beef rude?? heard it all now!!
I asked mr mac and he thought so too!
It was a little of the hot beef but the muffin too - maybe it's a regional thing ;)
Types of bread are a wonder aren't they, baps, barms, buns, bloomers, rolls etc
I think I see what you mean karen. except muffin was a mule or a small cake. (and before my new year resolution kicks in, or I get banned) muff is another word entirely diving or hand warming spring to mind, and I suppose hot beef could be thought of as 'hot beef'.
Yes AYG, it's the diving variety - but here it is also used as a verb by adding an ing but drop the g to keep up with the dialect and bingo! Muffin! ;)
which makes muffin the mule illegal probably.... ;)
A muffin up here is a bread roll, more commonly called a barm though.
Sorry lisalips, we are digressing on your first post (welcome to AB, by the way!) - baps means something else too, mamya!
lol boxy. Welcome to AB lisalips, sorry for the diversion
