Sorry I didn't know quite how to post my question and it submitted by itself.
I wanted to add what do you pickle and what is the best method to pickle foods?

Good cheese wouldn't need to be pickled.

Well not so good cheese. I'm asking as I want to try something different for a party I'm having on New Years.

I don't think you can pickle cheese,well not in the usual "pickle" method.
However,feta cheese is preserved in olive oil so you might be able to use that for other cheeses?
Many foods can be preserved in a viegar/spice solution,this something that has been going on for centuries.

Feta, a Greek cheese, is kept in brine. So, not pickled, but close.

Thanks Invictas and I do understand how google works but I would like some real answers from real time people with real experience but thanks to you and sandy for the feta idea. Jaqckthehat if you're pointing out my username then yes I understand but I thought "picklefan" was a better choice than "Lovepickledfoodsandwouldliketolearnhowfan"
