should be fine what..the? as long as you fridge it, look at the use by date, if it's too short, then freeze it, and defrost the night before you want to cook it!...............
Why on earth buy meat online? You could end up with any old rubbish.
Count, maybe what..the? is pushed for time!...............busy with work, family etc, So needs to shop online!..........No time for going to the supermarket!......
It could be a really posh ham? I have mail-ordered special bacon before.

I never get chance to shop in store due to work so its meat on line or no meat, anyway these hams are all the same they shrink wrap them all, even the finest ones
The ones I've been buying from the butchers recently have been shrink-wrapped - I think it is probably because they have such a long shelf life.

lol they all end up looking like pink wobbly parcels
Are you going to go the whole hog (as it were) and glaze your ham? I use brown sugar and cinammon which goes down well with everyone (and is my favourite).

I usually paint it with honey... so do you roll it in that and roast it?
Question Author
p.s the one I am looking at is 'on the bone' any thoughts ..?? .never had one of them before, usually go for the cheap ones.
You can either roast it or boil it, remove any rind (crappy job), score the fat and press the mixture on - put into a hot oven or under a hot grill.

thanks
You can simmer it for several hours-this helps to remove excess salt. Score it,and glaze with honey, mustard and brown sugar. Then bake in the oven.
... and any fat that's left over, throw it out for the birds.

Sorry for the hijack, just doing my bit for our feathered friends. :-))
