I like to make them taste better by adding certain things, eg mustard, brown sauce, worcestershire sauce, them little crispy dried onions and dried sage ( not all of them together tho ) Any other ideas pls ?

Ooo, nice :o)
Garlic puree or tomato puree.
I usually add dry mixed herbs, some garlic powder and ground black pepper. Once I've added the water (usually from the vegetables) I then add a little extra virgin olive oil and Worcester sauce.
Knorr make good stock cubes and powders - flavours include chicken, beef etc. We use mushroom, but hard to get - Polish shops stock it.
... finely chopped chilli pepper.
excuse me curly........hi mr, a, how are you and mrs a ?
Cayenne pepper adds a bit of 'zip' to the flavour but without the heat of chili.
Excuse me too Curvy,

Hi Anne.

Very well thank you. Mrs. A is watching her usual baseball which she'll watch for most of the night. That's why I'm on here. Mrs. A also started at a new place on Friday so things are very good and happy this weekend.

Hope you are OK by the way.
Sorry, but I would never use gravy granules, I prefer to make my own, the old fashioned way!.............Tastes so much better!...............Not hard to do!......Too many convenience foods around nowadays, some are fine, but gravy!......Homemade can't be beaten!.......Juices from the meat, vegatable stock,.........very tasty and healthy too!.
A Beef oxo if you're having beef and a chicken oxo if its chicken, turkey, pork.
That's true Welshlibranr but there are lots of meals I make where we don't have meat and I have to use the granules. We had Cornish pasties. potatoes and vegetables tonight for example.
i use gravy granules sometimes, but i dont think they taste great, a bit artificial....good news mr A,
ok Andyvron, I know what you mean, Try the sachets of Schwartz gravy mixes, they are not cheap, but if I have no meat juices I use them and add the water from my veg, the onion gravy one is really good with pies and sausage, but they'll all very good, especially if you want to make more of your own gravy!..............
urgh, hate them, would never use them, good old fashioned stock from what ever meat, touch of flour, and if I'm desperate a knorr chicken cube, fab gravy every time.
Thank you Welshlibranr, I will look out for those. I currently use the instant granules that come in the cardboard tubes but I've alwasy wondered what chemicals and other muck is in there. I've never minded paying extra for better quality, especially when it comes to food (eggs and veg. for example).

Thanks for the advice as I'm always on the look out for ways to improve my cooking. I'm one of those who had to learn how to cook by eating my own mistakes!
Haha, Andyvron, try the Schwarz mixes they are about 70 or 80p each depending where you shop, I buy them sometimes, if I'm having chops, not much meat juice, so I use the lamb one and add it to my gravy, they're all really good!......I have them in my store cupboard just in case!..............
Will do next time I'm at Tescos W. Thanks.
Can't stand the stuff but would a spoonfull of marmite make it any better ?
