i went out for a booootiful scrummy indian meal on thursday evening,
as always, i couldnt eat all of it, so i bought a doggy bag home.
the chicken jalfreizi and onion fried rice, both in sep foil containers with lids,
have been kept in the fridge since then.
i had a little picking of the curry (cold) last night and that still tasted fine,
i didnt try the rice,
do you think both will still be ok to eat today?
its a shame if i need to throw it away because theres loads there, and it was soo nice too.

Vagrant is absolutey right and I have experienced the effects of old cooked rice twice and it ain't pleasant, D&V for 12 hours unable to eat for 2 days. Just because you have been lucky NoMercy doesn't mean you or anyone else always will be.
i'd eat it, and i'd eat it just as it is, much prefer leftover indian and chinese cold.
Yes it will be absolutely fine, I have the same in mine, it's been in Tupperware boxes and I will eat it over the weekend.
I want an Indian now!
Not a prob loobby, get it down ya.
You have been warned.
...but also encouraged, I've done this many times with no adverse effects!
me too boxy.
Chuck... we're all going out for a hot one tonight !! lol

Vagrant and Jom... Everyone in my family eats curry and rice after a couple of days in the fridge. None of us has ever suffered ill effects as a result. But I guess we're all wrong and you and right...
nomercy i think the ppl who says its not fine is because they aint reheating it the correct way.
I watched a fly-on-the-wall thing once about people moaning in a restaurant about food standards, etc. A couple of them were later filmed coming out of the loos without washing their hands. For Funks Sake!
...and also everyone has different constitutions. I can eat most things without adverse effects, people who are more tickle-stomached have to be a bit more careful.

whitebears, we are only talking about the rice. however you reheat it you won't destroy the toxins. By all means make yourself as sick as you like but don't advise people when you don't know what you are talking about.
// they aint reheating it the correct way //

don't matter how you reheat it - reheating doesn't destroy the toxins excreted by the bacteria - if the bacteria have multiplied enough, you'll get sick.
Blimey, I`ve never known such a fuss over a bit of rice. I bet looobylooo wishes she never asked! Can people not read? It`s been in the fridge! Yeah, like any food if you leave it lying around at room temperature, your fridge is too warm or you don`t reheat properly you can become ill. There are a million ready meals with cooked rice sitting in supermarkets. There are a million pre-cooked airline meals with rice in flying around in the skies. It`s just a matter of correct food handling.
I think experience outweighs "knowledge" in most cases, so to say we don't know what we are talking about is utterly incongruous.

If the vast majority of us have nuked two-day old rice and not suffered in any way, shape or form, that should speak for itself.
ok ok i dont know what im talking about... i grew up eating rice, my whole family eat rice i eaten rice almost all my life, and used to eat ti every single day my parents has a take away oh yes i dont know what im talking about hmmm hmmm
Has it not occurred to anyone that the cooked rice that you buy has preservatives in it. That is why it doesn't make you ill. Although it seems to have a long term effect on mental processes.
