Whats your latest food discovery?

I have recently discovered malt loaf and Pataks Brinjal Aubergine pickle (Not at the same time by the way)

I like them on Pizza Express's Pollo ad Astra Pizza never had them on anything else - not sure what to put em on anyway

How have you avoided malt loaf?!

Being an omnivore means I tend not to even bother looking at the vegetarian and vegan sections of menus, but t'other day I tried hummus (with pita bread to dip) and it was gorgeous.

Dont know why I never tried it before but sweet chestnut puree is really good - available at your nearest sainsburys or deli as l'ardeche marrons

I can't get enough  of Lingham's ginger garlic chilli sauce (Tesco.)

its a smalll red pepper - on the pizza express pizza its sweet and a little bit hot
Phantaxus: I think peppadew are described as sweet piquant peppers, they're pickled in some really sweet vinegar and have an amazing flavour, I get them from tesco, about �2 for a jar and worth every penny. Not tried them with anything just eat them straight from the jar!!
I've recently discovered the wonders of goats cheese.
I've just discovered smoked cheddar, my local ASDA does it. Delicious!

Recently rediscovered MCvities Ginger cake - thickly sliced with oodles of butter.

Also the meaty greek olives - blush,  not black or green.

peppadews are great in salads, also added to a prawn stir fry. I like them whole but if you slice them they make very chi chi looking bright red rings for garnish. also put then on cheese on ttoast ot in a toasted sarnie

Spud queen...mash up that that goats cheese, and put it into a mashed, cooked, butternut squash, with a bit of butter and some cracked black pepper. Serve it with roast (preferably venison) and a gravy made of boiled down red wine and stock cubes.
MUST......LEAVE .....COMPUTER.....MAKE .....SQUASH.....MASH.....
Or on toasted, sliced baquette, grill the cheese on it, then serve it in salad, preferably rocket, with a little balsamic and definitely with walnuts.
oh .. you just have to try beef jerky,available in Sainsburys,about �1.99 a pack  ,i recently tried them and i am hooked!
