My daughter is having her first proper party soon. I know what I would usually do for a party but wanted to try and steal some ideas too. Thanks.

i would giove them lots and lots of sugar then send them back to their parents laughing, but i'm an evil cow with no kids.....

at 5 will they really care to much, just some rolls, crisps, raw veggies/ fruit, a pretty cake?
all good mums go to iceland

Normally - sandwiches, crisps, sausage rolls, cakes, ice cream and sprinkles. Mccfluff - they will get a shed load of sugary stuff in their party bags.
Something helthy too. Carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, pepper sticks and a dip
Definitely get some of those transformer crisps- perfect excuse for them to play with their food!
iced gems!!
Chicken drumsticks...mini pizzas...
Mmmm love iced gems! Is there a theme for the party?
iceland do the best mini pizzas
We have done various different things over the years. A couple of times we got the food boxes - like you get in macdonalds and filled them prior to the party with juice carton, sandwich, sausage roll/mini sausages, little orange and some grapes or cherry tomatoes, a box of raisins, a fairy cake and a biscuit and a small packet of crisps - that worked quite well and they all just left the rubbish in the boxes. As we always had summer parties, I just got a tub or two of icecream and cones and made everyone up a cone and left out little bowls of all the toppings and let them dip their cones in them. One year we did hot dogs for everybody - other times a little buffet with usual stuff, another time some mini pizza's and let them make their own topping. I also know someone who justwent out and bought them all happy meals! Other things are popcorn, cutting the sanwiches into shapes with a cutter or doing pinwheel sandwiches where you roll and slice them into circles - cubes of cheese, chicken dippers, raisins and any mini cakes or biscuits you feel like.
You could also do a chocolate fondue. I've got a mini one that's kept warm with a tealight. The kids love that.
Rice crispy cakes!
annie can I come to your next party?
Fruit kebabs....melon balls.
definitely forget, you can help out with party games and baloon blowing up! - my kids are getting bigger now, but one year we had over 50 kids as they always have a joint do - we had a bouncy castle with the slide, they already have a climbing frame/slide/swings, we set up the football goals, basketball net, sand pit and play tent with ball pit for the really little ones and we had a pinata etc. We then invited all the parents too as we thought they would help to supervise but then had to put on an adult buffet and booze. The last lot went home at 1.30 in the morning! Haven't had one for a couple of years, must do one next summer as this could be last time the boys want a "house" party.

No theme for the party as it is a joint party for two girls but boys will be allowed. It will also be the first time their class (Reception) has had a party together.
I am brilliant at party games!! I do think the food boxes is a great idea
annie....I want a party now :-(
Mandarins in orange jelly with carnation milk, slurp.
