Drinking dilute Vinegar?

I was reading an article about people who drink dilute vinegar for medicinal purposes.......Can't that damage your insides?

Why should it? Vinegar is only a 5% solution of acetic acid. If you dilute it down to one part in 10 it will therefore be a 0.5% solution of acetic acid. Given that your stomach contains a 0.5% solution of a far 'stronger' acid (hydrochloric) anyway, vinegar is unlikely to do any great harm.

Drinking a cup of diluted cider vinegar before a meal helps you to slim. Never tried it myself.

Cider vinegar with honey is excellent for joint problems in some people - someone posted on here today that you can also get it in tablet form, much more convenient.

I wouldn't have thought it possible to convert vinegar into tablet form. But tablets have got to be easier than drinking the vinegar mix which I did try for a few weeks but had to give up - couldn't face it any more lol

Is it Malt Vinegar as well as Cider Vinegar you can drink in dilute form?

I rather think it is cider vinegar people are diluting and not the malt.

I have heard of it being diluted with apple juice.

I absolutely love vinegar and often just have a spoonful - any vinegar, but especially balsamic or cider. But then I like sucking lemons as well.

Is there any evidence against the drinking of dilute vinegar, burning your stomach walls etc?.....Isn't it an astringent?

Dont do it, my hubby used to drink vinager it ate the inside of his stomch and he had to have an operation to replace his stomach with a new one, plus he had pre-cancerous cells that they found. Not a good idea. x

You should taste the wine one of my friends served at a recent BBQ. I wouldn't put it on chips.
