No but I've been out with a few.............
It's pork - nothing more, nothing less - although it's a tiny bit stronger flavour - very nice!!!
Another close question is can you eat warthog and what does it taste of?

I only like wild boar when cooked in white wine as in red wine it's too strong.
It's has a coarser grain and stronger flavour ,but it's lovely
our local butcher makes wild boar sausages .
Thanks eddie.
i had wild boar goulash in hungry, it was nice very strong though
have been wildly bored - does that count ?
nfn is right, strong pork.
peri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know this is going to sound daft, but ever had really 'piggy' pork? - One that kind of leaves the kitchen smelling a bit farm-yardish? Wild boar is like that to me, a strong pork/gamey taste. I make wild boar sausages if I get a shoulder and a leg cut or belly and leg cut, It's lovely cooked in cider, and throw a few wel flavoured sweet eating apples, such as cox's in the roasting tin too, adds a nice flavour. Make an apple sauce and add a slosh of calvados to it, or casserole it with a drop of tawny pork. I find a little 'sweetness' from friut or alcohol takes off the gamey taste that puts people off. (That and the price of course!)
had wild boar sausage recently ... oh my it is YUM!!!!
