kabanossi sausages? I've no idea why I even bought them when I haven't a clue what to do with them.I'll be grateful for any suggestions please.

Here is an Irish recipe for a soup.
It seems that most recipes I have heard about using kabanossi, which has a smokey flavour, is to put it in soups or stews.

I did indeed!!
Some of the stuff you see in Lidl looks so tasty, but if you are a chicken, like me, you wonder wether or not to try it. And so cheap too!

KABANOSY are thin Polish sausages, already cooked. I suppose u could put them in stews etc but they are best eaten as they are - sort-of tasty snacky titbits. They go well with pickled cucumbers (in brine are best) or cwikla (beetroot and horseradish). U will find the latter 2 in delis, Polish shops and some supermarkets. Be brave and try. Yum yum.

The soup reminded me of one my husband likes which I had forgotten about .It's made with a piece of smoked bacon, which has just onion, carrots and savoy cabbage in chicken stock. In bigger pieces as opposed to finely chopped. Maybe I could try that since I've got those ingredients in the house. I'll let you know whichever one I use and how it turns out. I'll then know whether to put blinkers on when I go to Lidls!!

OK lucca, will write those names down and have a look at the Polish section in Tescos next time. I'll always try a taste out.

thanks mrrobbo, I would never have thought of something as simple as that, really handy too.
I'm with Mrrobbo. Slice them 1/2'' long and add to baked beans. Also have them as a snack in favour of that expensive Pepperoni.
