Water Tastes "Funny" ?

The plumbing materials in your property can influence the taste and odour of the water you receive, for example:

-metallic/bitter tastes from new copper pipework
-plastic tastes from plastic pipework
-TCP type taste from tap washers and dishwasher/washing machine hoses
-domestic treatment
Fit non-return valves on dishwashers and washing machines. They are easily fitted and prevent the taste from the hose reaching the mains tap, to which they are normally connected.

Only materials approved for use with drinking water should be used.

Any domestic treatment i.e., water filters and softeners, should be installed correctly. If not, they can contaminate the drinking water supply.

If your property has been unoccupied, while on holiday for example, run the tap on your return to clear the water that has been standing in the pipework, before drinking.

Hi Keroppe/CM/WB !!!!! Boiling your water won't kill off all the chemicals, hormones and toxic substances that manage to get into drinking water. I watched a documentary about how many times the water from the Thames Water Board is recycled, before finally passing away, and it was horrendous. I'd rather drink bottled water, shrimps and all!!! x

Thanx for the translation but am none the wiser as I thought it came from our roman baths or our natural springs in UK. I have a 25ft deep well in my garden which I draw from during water shortages; have had the water microscopically examined and the water board showed me the shrimps and said the water should be boiled.

The well is ancient and constructed of fist sized stone. The water has a lot if filtering under fields before it reaches the well.
I was drinking water drawn from a well last month, and it tasted great! The only downside, was having to rush to the loo for the first couple of days, but after that - no problem!

Ohhhh........just remembered.........It was Rodney and Dell Boy who started the bottled water factory in UK.....our water's ok then!
Have you considered the fantasic bottled water called San Pellegrino (also S. Pellegrino) ?.It is a mineral water with added carbonation, produced and bottled at San Pellegrino Terme, in Lombardy, Italy. The water originates from a layer of rock 400 m (1,300 ft) below the surface, where it is mineralized from contact with limestone and volcanic rocks. It emerges from three deep springs at a temperature of about 22 C (70 F).[1] The surrounding area is highly favorable for the formation of the mineral water basin from the replenishment point, located on the Dolomite range. The water then seeps to great depths of over 700 m (2,300 ft) where it begins its long subterranean journey to an aquifer. Since 1997 San Pellegrino is owned by Nestl and exports bottles to most countries in Europe, North America, Japan, the Middle East and Australasia.

Ideal for that spur of the moment dinner party, or that trip on the Sunseeker.

Thank-you kindly terambulan.

Many thanks NEWMARKET FARM

Every drop of water is as old as the planet. Dinosaurs drank it, it's been through my grandmother and yours.
It has all been recycled billions of times.

Boiled water tastes disgusting.
