PEA costume

My 6 yr old son has been given the role of a PEA in the christmas play.....
How the heck am I gonna make a pea costume.. any ideas??

Awwww, that made me laugh, a pea, what are they thinking of.

Maybe make some kind of frame and cover it with paper and paint it green. Or a large cardboard box filled out on the four vertical sides to resemble a shpere. Or a large exercise ball with appropriate holes cut in it.

Whats the christmas play about?

Just paint him green and write PEA on his forhead.

how about, a hula hoop, suspended over his shoulders (like braces) so it sits on his waist and then some loose material over it, green obviously lol maybe elasticated at the bottom so it brings it in? You should be able to get some green tights from somewhere too if not you could dye some i guess

...my mother dressed my brother as a peapod back in the 70s... he had a green all in one jumpsuit and had 4 green balloons in a row on his front.... use green face paint to complete the look

ah great ideas, thank you, i'll try and do a bit of all of them ( make it as easy as possible) i wasnt best pleased when i found out he was a pea and as im so uncreative and the last few years have bought readymade chicken and lamb costumes, being a pea kind of threw me.
God knows how i'll do it but i have 14 days to make it...shall let u know what the play is, i dread to think, as some poor boy has been cast as brandy sauce!!!!!
haha i did think about dressing him all in green and pinning the letter 'P' to his tummy!!!

Get a large ball, maybe one of those exercise ones of you have one then papier mache it Either make with green papier mache or paint afterwards. Once dry cut around so in two bits. Do arm and head holes as needed voila

ahhh I would love to see him in his pea costume. Mind you its a long call from the usual "shephard wearing a tea towel" whatever you do I bet he will look cute.

oooo, tell me what sort of thing you've done then 4get! Im rubbish with stuff like this ! but the way things are going these days, my little man might need something making in the future so i will know who to ask! Peter Purvis aka 4getmenot! get him a incredible hulk costume....

or just cover him in green balloons and make sure his doesn't walk too close to anything sharp!

I was a tree in my xmas play many years ago I think it was alice in wonderland and I had to turn pages on my big cardboard cutout tree to tell the story, how embarrasing, they always put the clever kids with a double barrelled name's in the main role's!

Im glad you all find this amusing, im terrified noones gonna have a clue what my green blob is in the play.. ahahah!!
