getting a bit of a cookery lesson from a friend and she said I need cooks string in order to tie some pork. Where can I get this from and does it really have to be cooks string?

Think blue food in Bridget Jones.!.....and don't use a garden twine or creosote coated one or a plastic string etc etc

If you are roasting you should use a high heat twine as Boo says above - online from here too: http://www.cookshop.uk.com/product_results.htm l?subcat=36 used these guys before and pleased with their service...
Blimey - special string - wonders will never cease. I''ve always just used a good quality white cotton twine from my local ironmonger. Cheap as anything and never did me or my roasts any harm.
I just use ordinary parcel string - not the nylon variety obviously.
...go flirt with your local family butcher, it usually does the trick , free string, free bones for stock , you can get all sorts! lol......
no, i believe you get Allsorts from the local sweetie shop.
