Americans do eat meat based pies and pastries and I ate many in my time there. Admitadly you don't get the same abundance of the british style ones as you do here. Why would you expect to though... it is a different country after all.
Meat pies, sausage rolls and pasties are very british, you don't find them much out of UK: it's one of the things ex-pats dream of occasionally!!
Young - we eat chicken/turkey/beef pot pies - you can order them in a lot of restaurants and buy them in supermarkets.

We also eat quiche with things like ham/bacon/chicken/turkey in them - you can order them in a lot of restaurants and buy them in supermarkets.

We buy calzones, hot pockets, pot pies, quiche, pizza, etc. at the supermarket.

We eat a ton of calzones and pizza with sausage/pepperoni/beef/chicken/bacon/ham in restaurants and delivered to our homes.

That is about it for the meat pies for us here - unless you make them at home.
