Why have none of the drinks companies brought out a diet version of popular alchopops? Bearing in mind that a bottle of Smirnoff Ice contains over 200 calories - can you imagine just how popular a 50 calorie version would be with diet conscious drinkers?? Bring it on!

If they bring out a diet one, it might just draw more attention to the fact that the original ones are not diet, shifting sales from Brand A to Brand A Light (rather than boosting total sales). A diet version would still have all the calories from the alcohol so you couldn't get it virtually calorie-free like a soft drink. Alcoholic drinks don't have to show ingredient/calorie information on the packs so most people probably don't know how many calories are in a regular bottle anyway.
I think there is actually a low fat alcopop out now made by bacardi breezer. Apparantly it doesn't taste fantastic though.........
actually diet drinks are worse than normal. Studies have shown that the sweeteners can actually make people crave food. not to mention all those nasty side effects of aspartame! i won't touch the stuff/
