Do potatos last longer in the fridge?

Cool, dark and dry place is the best. Potato warehouses try to keep the humidity under 25% and temps not over 45 degrees nor under 35 degrees F. Freezing them will ruin them... they turn black and when thawed are mushy and unedible...

fridge is about 40 degrees F, and dark so although its not dry it would therefore be superior to cuboard (70 degrees)
We keep ours in the sack in the garage and they last ages.

When I worked in a pub they froze them baked and defrosted and warmed up in the micro they are delish.
My mum froze them mashed when we were little and they always tasted ok but you could tell they were bit different.
