How should one best organise one's fridge to be safe (i.e. meat at bottom)?

The usual advice is: raw meats/fish on the bottom shelf (usually a solid piece of glass above the salad/veg compartment) and make sure nothing can leak down below. Cooked foods above on the open (wire) shelves.
i asked my butcher and he had a special leaflet on food safety and fridges etc
