And how long shall I boil it for?!

Excellent, was just reading them b ut everyone has their own special way....

If I boil it first, will it still taste roasted and will I get crackling?!

Confused that gammon will turn into a glazed cooked ham and a roasted joint is white meat with crackling?!
You will have to leave the skin on and roast it for crackling. I have never tried roasting with glaze and skin as you need the white fat to hold the glaze. Cooking`s about experimentation.
Sorry jeanette mis understood. Pork will give you white meat,a Gammon roasted is just cooked bacon.
