Why bother making them?? Just get a contact in the North East and get them to send you some. As a person from the North East now living in the South East I regularly have friends and relatives on stotty runs. They pack easily and freeze fine, however, there is still the problem that I can not hold of any Pease Pudding, another North Eastern delicacy.
