My son and his girlfriend made some mincemeat from Delia's recipe this year. It has started to ferment in the jars. They made the same recipe last year and it was OK. Does anyone know if it can be saved or do we have to throw the whole lot out?

http://www.deliaonline.com/cookery-school/how- to/how-to-make-mincemeat,67,AR.html I have tried to find an answer but to no avail. On this recipe from her web site she does mention fermenting.I suppose in wine making the fruit ferments.
It'll probably just add to the alcoholic effect of the brandy.
