I keep trying to make my own pork or beef burgers but when I put them in the frying pan they break up. Does anyone know how to stop this happening. They taste nice but look awful!

I've never fried my homemade burgers but have bbq'ed them and find that putting the burgers in the fridge for half hour or so before cooking it makes them stick together better... maybe this will work for frying too?
Add an egg to the mince mixture before frying it
Add the egg and put in the fridge as mentioned and i also add breadcrumbs.

The secret with burgers is not to have too much liquid in there and to only turn them once.

Funnily enough, i'm doing my own burgers tonight

Good luck
Add the egg there is a brill recipe on ready steady cook website easy peasy!
chuill them before cooking them
i chill mine before cooking, but i cook them on a baking tray in the oven, so i don't need to touch them.
