if you had it with a plate of chips, some bread and butter and a bowl of spotted dick and custard, very. If you had it with a salad or some veggies, then a bit of fruit, not at all. As for quantity, I don't think two medium fillets of mackerel are going to turn you into a lard a*se. The benefits of oily fish are far greater than you'd get from eating a plate of pre-packed diet food, so fill your boots!
Not unhealthy at all.Full of good Omega 3 oils which are good for your heart, hair ,skin, nails and joints. The diet I have been following since January recommends eating two or three portions if oily fish per week.
I have managed to lose three stone so it must have been doing me good !
Absolutely fantastic for you - keep eating eat. As the others have said it is so good for hair, nails and skin and more importantly brain function. Shaneystar if you read this what diet have you been following?

It's just a guide thing from the NHS but worked wonders for me .I am now back to my normal weight for me as I am quite tall and big boned ..11 stone and I was 14 !!

Mackeral is high in fat I think but that's totally balanced out by the fact it is good omega 3 oils and you only eat a relatively small amount anyway. Keep eating it- we love it!
