I was looking for a recipe for this online, is it called 'daal'? If not, any advice on what other name it might come under? Thanks in advance.

Thanks both. The 'Chana dal' sounds exactly like what I was looking for, and I'm amazed at the number of different Chick Peas recipes, good website!

Hi rhona_j - glad to help - astray is one I seem to be really plugging but only 'cos ithas such a good range of recipes!

Happy cooking..

Dhal is a generic name for cooked pulses like chickpeas or yellow split peas. Chana or channa dhal is the recipe you seek.

My favourite is Tarka Dhal, it's like lentil dhal but it's a little otter.

Sorry.

Thanks Dingoeater, that made me smile on this dull morning!
We wouldn't really call it 'dhal' as this usually refers to all lentil dishes but if you type in 'cholay' in Google, you'll get loads of recipes for chick-pea curry and other dishes!

Hope that helps!
