It's probably illegal - I flew to the UK over Easter and there were still signs up warning passengers not to carry meat products; it's not very sensible - your bag could be on the tarmac of a sunny Greek airport for hours; and it's not very necessary - one of the joys of a foreign holiday is sampling something different (one of the finest sausages I ever had was on the Greek island of Naxos).
we always bring meat and veg back from italy no bother, and we take bacon and sausages when we go out to italy....just put it in your suitcase wrapped up well and u will be fine
I often take a couple of packets of bacon/sausage when we go on hols. Just to cope with breakfasts for the first couple of days. I take them rock-solid frozen and they gently defrost during the journey. Wrap them up in a plastic bag though!
