How do i make this used to have it at school with chocolate custard desperate for the recipe

Ingredients:


2/3rds Pint of Milk, 6oz Margarine,5oz Sugar, 4oz Plain Flour, Vanilla Essence, Grated Chocolate.


Method:


Boil milk, marg and sugar together, remove from heat and whisk in flour, add a few drops of vanilla essense. Return to heat and cook until thick. Allow to cool before spreading on pre-cooked short crust pastry flan base, sprinkle with grated chocolate and enjoy!!

Made it yesterday, it was disgusting. But I had a brain - wave afterward..I used healthier ingredients than we had in the sixties!

Today I 'm going to use:

1 pint Full cream milk
6oz marg from a tub(not Stork)
6oz sugar
3oz flour
6 drops vanilla essence
