Air fryers seem to be all the rage now. Have George Foreman grills been relegated to a dusty corner in the kitchen cupboard?

I still have my George Foreman grill, it is stashed away beside the smoothie maker, soup maker, steamer and slow cooker.
Gave me George Formean away, I bought the wrong one. It had removable plates for easy cleaned but seemed to boil the steaks rather than grill.
Consigned a rotisserie to the scrapman because it was too dangerous to use.
I actually had to get rid of my bright red microwave as it was an 700w and I kept miscalculating the cooking times. I bought an 800w. Much simpler to use.

I've a stick blender in the back of the cupboard. I used it once to make a smooth soup but decided I preferred lumpy soup.
I use my stick blender a lot, but I do use it for more than blending soup
Toastie maker seems to get forgotten till I see it lurking at the back of the cupboard! Air fryer may well go the same way through time!

Wolf63, do you ever use the gear you've tucked away?
I sometimes get obsessed with buying gadgets, I feel sure that my life would be much simpler if I had them.

I also hate throwing things out.

I possess both Air Fryer and a George Foreman Grill. The latter being less versatile. However still brilliant for toasted sandwiches and the odd beef burger. I used to own a Frank Bruno toaster, had to throw it away since it would only do one round.

Barry,
Apart from soup how else could it be used?
Question Author
Didn't Frank Bruno do a TV advert for battered cod from Birdseye?
Sandy
Not really. I have the steamer out as I intend to steam some veggies. But I never quite get around it it.

sandy, one of my oldsters has problems chewing so it use it to puree his veg. It also has a whisk attachment and a small bowl for chopping and mixing so it is very versatile.
I do toasted sandwiches in the frying pan - okay, it doesn't 'seal' them but they do come out beautifully and I can use much larger slices of bread.
I still use my mouli parsmint
I still use mine, Johnny, and a runner bean stringer/slicer which I've had over 40 years. It's used a lot when the beans are picked in the summer.

A few years ago I was very tempted by all the hype surrounding halogen ovens. I'm glad I resisted for they have fell out of fashion
Question Author
Could the mouli be used to chop nuts?
Mine couldn't - it is far too old - but it used to.
I still use my deep fat fryer because I think the chips taste better than
when cooked in the oven
I don't have a deep fat fryer but I do use an old saucepan with a chip basket on the rare occasions I cook 'proper' chips with lard.
