Fish And Chps

I suddenly fancied this for dinner tonight. Haven't had fish and chips from the chippy since Covid emerged and our local fish and chip shop is excellent. Trouble is, if we have it, I will suffer tomorrow. What does one do?

We never have fish/chips from a chipshop...there isn't one for miles.
Favourite is Waitrose lightly-floured scottish haddock, their crinkly chips (both done in oven) and home-done mushy peas.
Only once a month, though!

Danny. I'm not good with fatty food. Even only a small amout. Nor is OH, so he will turn up his nose when I suggest it. And he's the one who will have to go and get it.

Perhaps if I ask nicely though ......... And it will save him cooking tonight!!

A sachet of Fibogel in a glass of water 10 minutes before eating would probably help.

You are right Lady CG. I have lots in stock. I hate the stuff, but it's essential for me. And I'll have fruit for afters!

I haven't asked him yet. He's been busy all day fixin electrics and not very happy. Hmmmmm!

Sometimes the thought of something is nicer than eating it. Hey, confused you use Fiborgel, a laxative, for acid reflux. My mum get that when she eats pastries and used Gaviscon. x

Not for Acid reflux Curly. Fatty food, chips, and batter will bung me up as does sugar and then there will be problems in my whole digestive system! I have ibs and diverticular disease.

Pat, there are plenty of delivery services that cover chippies - Just Eat, Deliveroo etc.

Will the Fish and Chip meal be worth it when tomorrow you will feel 24 weeks pregnant, sweating with colicky abdominal pain and intense diarrhoea?

Mozz. No deliveries where we live out in the sticks. Noone would find us anyway in the pitch black. None of the local places deliver out of the town .
