I am starting an afterschool cookery club at my sons Infant school (ages 4-7).

Does anybody have any quick and easy "healthy" recipes suitable for that age group to help to prepare and cook.

I have several ideas, but time is running out and I could do with some more.

Please bear in mind that I only have 1 hr max to discuss, prepare, cook and taste the food.

Cheers

Have a look at: http://kidshealth.org/kid/recipes/index.html

Also at : http://www.healthykids.com/recipe/ and put in the search, for example 5 or fewer ingredients, option. Lots of good stuff there. Easy convert to UK measures off the US site and all aimed at feeding kids properly

Sandwiches, or bagels are fun with no cooking - they could experiment with mixing different fillings - it's surprising what kids will eat if they have helped to make it!

Pizzas are good - you can make them on crumpets and then grill or bake them, or use ready made bases.

How about making dips and eating them with pre-prepared veggie sticks?

I know it's not really healthy but you could try, as a treat, icing patterns onto digestive biscuits or rich tea biscuits and adding jelly tots, smarties or dolly mixtures.

pasta is real easy to cook and fun cos of all the diffrent shapes you could even make fresh which is really easy add tuna , chicken, sweetcorn anything the kids fancy to make there own healthy fun meal im a cook in a school and our kids love pasta (and we are nothing like jamie olivers school dinners trust me) and well done to you great idea have fun with it
