My friends and I used to buy beef jerky from our local supermarket but they stopped selling it years ago, I'd pretty much forgotten all about it when it came up in conversation a few weeks back...not ebing able to find it anywhere I checked online...they even sell it on eBay!

Anyway, for anyone that may not know, beef jerky is basically dried, cured, smoked beef, VERY low in fat, very high in protein, really good for you! So good in fact they are now pushing it almost as a health food!

I went here: http://www.thejerkymen.co.uk/ and ordered the 12 pack multipack...now my friends and I are all hooked on the jerky and I'm thinking about trying to make it myself.

In certain south african shops in london you can also get hold of "Biltong" which is very similar but tougher, equally as lovely...who's with me? Who loves the jerky?

I dont like it myself... but my dog loves it! A friend of ours used to feed to him. And just to let you know, Asda still sell it.

Aside from there being no asda within 30 miles of me, buying it online only costs me 85p a pack!

I used to pay 2 for a 25g pack when it was in my local supermarket!

If you have a tesco express local to you i have seen it on sale in there...

We do...and they don't have any.

Seriously, if any of you guys really dig on jerky, buying it online works out at less than half price! I was paying 2 per 25g bag when buying it from shops, now I'm paying 85p per bag!

I've never tasted it, because I thought it would be salty, but you can buy it very cheaply at costco.
Chappers, do you own that website by any chance?

Love jerky! And look at the adverts to the right on this line for other outlets..........Sainsburys also sell it.

Jerky isn't salty. Can be spicy, smoked sweet etc. Biltong is South African version. Its only air dried meat. Chinese supermarkets have a vegetarian option of prepared soy bean, cured like meat. Nice option on the odd occasion, and free from animal products. But don't ask how a bean gets to taste like a beef.
