Cut your veg into uniform pieces as for stir-frying - put about 2in or so of water into a suitable saucepan depending on the amount of veg you want to use - take one of those metal steamers(they look like petals of a flower) and fit into saucepan - arrange veg evenly and add sea salt - or sprinkle caraway seeds on carrots and nutmeg on broccoli. Place lid on saucepan and steam until cooked, about 20mins is about average time. Keep an eye on water levels - don't let it boil dry. Hope this makes sense, mickie!!!

I steam all my vegetables - apart from potatoes. Use a steamer, the fan shaped metal thing that fits inside a saucepane - as Cetti says.

Some things steam faster than others, so carrots take longer then cauliflower, so its a good idea to buy two or three steamers so you can steam different veggies in separate pans. Just use tip of knife to judge when theyre cooked.

You don't need to add anything to the vegs.

Even plain I think you'll find them a lot more tasty than the same veg boiled.

Spellmaster, your work here is done my friend.
