My SIL only toasts one side.
My mother in law only toasted on one side then folded the toasted side in to reduce crumb spray...... :-)
Which side is buttered, toasted or non toasted?
Why would you think it not possible to toast loaf only on one side?
I bet this brings back fond memories

Those were the days.
We still do that Talbot, mainly with crumpets though.
Takes about 4 days now, even using the hottest radiator :0(
^^I'd argue that it's about toast....not bread.

You do know it has to be one first before becoming the other, right?

Not at all Mamya, my cycling lifestyle is enhanced with a high carb diet, though to be honest it’s pretty much just everything in moderation.
Good.

I'd love an open fire.
Never heard of it until Sting tried to fool the Yanks that Brits have it that way. Don't know how many he suckered.
Isn't thin sliced bread toasted one side called Melba Toast and thick bread toasted one side and buttered the untoasted side ( sometimes with herbs) called French Toast? I sometimes have that and that's what we call it, but that might just be my family :) x
Sheer laziness. Tut.
Melba is toasted on both sides
Ahhhh... I feel like a real Nellie now Talbot :)

Geddit? Geddit? x
I think French toast is dipped in egg beforehand.
Which side do you dip in egg, OG?
If you toast it on one side only, which side do you butter?
Oeuffuly good OG :)

Blimey I'm on a roll:)

Someone stop me drinking :)
If you are psssst. Kvlad...I'm going to eggnore you, you're a bad influence.
I eat Thins, turned back to back in the toaster, so the soft side gets toasted and the crust side doesn't. Love 'em.
