Jo Brand on QT was referred to as an actor, not an actress. Everybody is now a guy, what about gals.

Define actor, SK.

Male version of an actress surely.
i still think most women in the acting profession are referred to as actresses.
No, the term actor is not gender specific, the term actress is gender specific.

A female can be an actor, a male can not be an actress.

Anyhow.. Jo Brand is a pioneer for gender equality and gender identification, so i assume she's quite neutral. I can't imagine her kicking up a fuss about being called an actor, even though she's IMO a comedian.
I am not a guy I'm a lady :-P

Strange though how some professions are not gender descriptive
Doctor
Lawyer
Builder
Engineer
Driver and Chaufeur
Cook
Chef
Teacher
Nurse

There are loads of them.....

I think you will find that a man can be an actress in todays ridiculous world.
Why would they be? Half the issue with gender stereotypes is people acknowledging them and kicking up a fuss, instead of getting on with life and seeing people as people.
only if he is in panto...
SK, it would depends on how he identifies himself as, or what he's comfortable with being referred to as...

Any towns, or anything else, with "woman" in it ?
Man can be a noun, or a verb and even an exclamation, that's rad man..
I think women feel hard done by, and are starting to insist masculine versions of things apply to them. It's an insane world.
Just language evolving.
We no longer say poetess or authoress or aviatrix etc.
Calibax Only in France and then it just means Driver. I been asked before if I would prefer a female chauffeur.
