I brought a 3l bottle of strong white cider from my local bargain booze. I hadn't notice till I was half way through the bottle that they had stuck another BBE sticker over the original date it's 15 months out of date, will this make me ill and also are they aloud to cover the original date and sell without saying

I wouldn't imagine it'll hurt you, I can't say I've ever looked at the expiries on ciders and beers and we make our own as well so that can't obviously have one, so just drink it and enjoy it.
No. That's a food standards issue rather than a food hygiene issue. It won't make you ill
If it isn't obviously fermenting or has lumps of mould in it, no harm will be done by drinking it.
Should bring it up ;-) with the local standards though.
