Cake

I have a birthday soon and I will have visitors coming with a card or two - I usually have a wee party etc but wont be this time - however do not want to be sitting like that song bare necessities etc - can anybody advise a nice cake - really moist.

I usually make a pavlova but that won't be happening. and I can ruffle up a cuppla sandwiches. Get a wee bottle or two. Cake is the most important. Thanks

I've used this recipe before - very simple but lovely. I hate 'dry' sponge cakes!

oh god Mrs O - it looks lovely - but I meant buying a cake - I am hopeless at baking - pavlova is my specialty - that is all I can bake. so please a nice cake from a supermarket etc. sorry for misunderstanding

I can highly recommend Sainsburys cakes. They do a beautiful one which is completely covered with pink icing roses - it looks stunning

M & S or Waitrose do very nice cakes. I believe Sainsbury's own make is also very good,. Whatever you choose... enjoy... and send me a slice. xx

Oh Mrs O - that rhymes LOL - Sainsburys is down a block from my house - hope to god they have one - just hope it is moist.


Mamy am dreading birthdays - I get very nervous over them - my wee niece has just emailed and pleaded with me for anything I want but I just told her what they get me every year is a beautiful body scrub - different for down there and deodorant and am very happy with that - flowers sorry are not for me - cos they die within a day or two - jewellery hardly wear it now. I am just happy to get a wee card. The sista left a card on Sunday (my family never celebrated birthdays - even my mother and father) anyway couldn't resist opening hers and it is stunning - covered with little diamonds and pearls - I don't where she gets the things - and another lady who is autistic left me over a prayer card so there ya go 2 cards already.


Don't want to hurt you Mama but you are not going to believe it my sista had to tell me when it was cos I am so not interested. Thanks for your kind offer. LOL

at Mrs O - got the lovely cake and have ordered a platter of sandwiches which will be great - tomorrow will go back and get the bits and pieces of party food not too much and the platter. The cake seems to have had good reviews. Cake looks beautiful - Thanks for that tip.
