How long will hard-boiled eggs last in the fridge (still in shell) before going "off"?
Thanks

Thanks Sqad............eggs again in my pack-up tomorrow then

paul......I knoe nothing about cooking, but as you post came on, Mrs sqad came into my study and she is an "expert" in the kitchen.

So it is her answer.
will last 4-5 day if you cool them quickly after boiling, just plunge them into cold or better still iced water the store in the frdge.

If they are peeled then the will last longer - 7days. i googled this a while ago as i wanted them for my lunch. I boil up 6 at the beginning of the week for my pack ups.
I'd keep them for around 5 days.
i boil eggs for work lunches on a Sunday or Monday & leave them in the fridge all week, i've been doing this for years & i'm not dead so imo mrs sqad is wrong
Is it true that some Chinese supermarkets sell 1000 year old eggs as a speciality? No thank you !
I don't check this again in my life. I dislike half-boiled egg while the yolk is not boiled. My younger brother likes it so much.

Thanks for all your input. I regularly boil eggs for my sarnies, and it would make more sense to boil a weeks worth, than do it daily. Think I'll give that a go in future.
If you hard boil eggs and put them in a sterilised jar, then add white vinegar they will keep in the fridge for months.
How do you know you're not dead mccfluff ? This is purgatory, didn't you know ?
They call them that janbee, but it isn't actually so.

I have conveyed to Mrs sqad that all the posts disagree with her opinion and even one bluntly said that she was wrong.

Mrs sqad replied that she respected opinions but still would not use a hard boiled egg that was in it's third day in the fridge.
i'm currently eating an egg that is on day five and not only that, they went out of date about 3 weeks ago........ but it looks ok, smells ok & more importantly tastes good, esp with a little salt & mayo

i'm pretty sure i'm alive but you have a good point OG :-)
