Well I'm fed up with reading about Marmite.

This recipe sounds good

... I also do a pretty fine Bread and Butter Pudding with Whisky Marmalade - I'll see if I can find my recipe (although I tend to make it up as I go along these days).

If you don't have left over croissants then you aren't buying enough. Anyway I thought the use of marmalade was to stop you getting seasick.

Although I think the idea of using left over croissants is bonkers - who ever has left over croissants ?
I love marmalade but I really can't stand bread and butter pudding, I have on occasion warmed a few dollops in the saucepan then mixed in some orange liqueur and poured it over a sponge cake, that was very nice ;)
marmite and marmalade on toast together is nice
Fluff, add a smear of mango chutney and it really will be mmm!
Oh God you two, bleurgh!
Is anyone going to do uses for jelly?
i do like mango dipped into marmite

sod off crafty
marmite and marmalade sounds like a delicious match. must try
Crafty, jelly in detention? :)
OMG, I've just been reminded of a dish a friend used to serve up years ago.

Chicken pieces smothered in mango chutney and baked in the oven, about ten minutes from the end of cooking add sliced banana and orange.........
Wonderful as a glaze on a roast ham or pork joint - as it black treacle ( which also makes good butties)
^as is

Hmmm - probably described as "Malaysian Chicken" or some such nonsense.

I think my local Chinese in New Mills (The Luk Ki Vom) used to do something similar in about 1979 ...

Marmalade Glazed Roast Ham is a Christmas Treat, mamya - studded with cloves too :+)
Dave, I had a name for it and was nowhere near as polite as Malaysian!

How does that work OG - do you smear it on your chest or something?
Defo, dave, re: Crimbo dinner... have had it with a black treacle glaze, but might be tempted to marmalade & marmite, (just for a change & in the interests of ?taste?)
It was a (probable) myth regarding Mary, Queen of Scots wasn't it. I think the suggestion was she ate it to settle the stomach. Were it needed on the chest I'm sure she would have had a chest servant to do it for her. And if no chest was available I'm sure a lockable cupboard would suffice.
Well said, O_G, it's the only place for marmite IMO, but make sure its on the inside WITH the door locked, and the key thrown away. ;((
