We are going camping on Sat night. Just for one night. Consequently, I don't want to pack a load of cooking equipment. I shall have two gas rings at my disposal. What would you cook in advance to take with you just to heat through (and please not chilli, it has a terrible effect on Mr BM and I just KNOW the toilets at this event will be less than salubrious).

I thought you'd gone off somewhere barmaid ? In a nice hotel somewhere !
Just cook some pasta in tomato sauce but with some extra sauce so there is plenty to keep the pasta moist when reheating then ad some grated cheese once heated through - Simples!
Or a sausage caserole is easy to do and can be reheated
Sausage casserole good too..add apples !

Hmmmm lots of idea here, thanks.

We went away to N Wales and then Yorkshire, Murray. But I had to come back for work.

We did stay in Harrogate, but the hotels that were recommended were fully booked. We ended up in the Holiday Inn. The suite was lovely and I blagged it at an excellent rate, but the food was terrible.
Barmaid, not red wine, not you, with a gas stove, in a field in a tent, with red wine - nooooooooo :-)

It was the breakfast that was terrible Sloopy. The fried eggs were rock hard and the bacon tough as an old boot. It was appalling.
Had that t&oo barmaid ..it was all left under heat lamps.....would rather find a nice Mumsy b&b ....get brilliant brekkie !....Whitby and Mrs o spring to mind !
Is there definitely no country pub within walking distance?

The only reason I'm ever in a field is it's en route to a country pub... or I really, really need a pee :-\
Question Author
