Following the suspected drug-related deaths of 8 young people over a four week period, people are asking if the police are turning a blind eye to small time dealing in NI. These dealers would presumably pay for their immunity by acting as informers for the police.
If this is the case, is it time the police rethought their tactics?

The deaths ought to raise the profile though. It's not the small time dealing so much, it's this particularly fatal source of drugs surely ? In which case they'd want to trace it back to wherever it came from and catch as many of the 'larger guys' as they can, and throw the book at them.
