I am going to make this:

Some children are going to be eating it as well as adults and they hate picking out the whole spices.
So my question is will the dish taste significantly different if I ground the spices first. I would think that 2 sticks of cinnamon bark ground would impart far more flavour to the dish than putting them in whole. Suggestions comments please.

Two sticks of ground cinnamon bark would be overpowering, bear in mind that sticks are removed before serving.
Hi catsrcool, I am not sure of the method you will be using , can some of the spices/ herbs be infused with muslin cloth and used to cook then discard before serving ?

flump1 the spice have to go into the marinade. I am tempted to halve the quantities listed and grind them before putting in the marinade.
