Why does breaking wind make a noise? Sometimes when my missus breaks wind, it sounds like someone has clapped their hands!

Where there is movement there is noise, thats why

HappyFace, how very cheeky to describe your wife's private functions like that.  think of a trumpet, must be a similar principle.

I was going to post the same JulieEve - but then I thought that as it's usually food & drink that causes windypops..........!
actually old bean I would be apt to clap after she broke wind and Moreover would be happy to grade her on quality of sound ,if you would be so kind to send me a tape of this incredible wind breaking TATA
