Having gammon on xmas day (turkey on boxing day when the family come over)

I usually either boil mine in ginger beer for a couple of hours or roast mine in the oven in losely wrapped foil with butter, honey and chopped apricots.

Both methods are studded with cloves and covered in mustard and roasted uncovered for 20 mins before serving.

My niece highly recommends cooking it in coca-cola.

Yep, tried the cola. very nice too.
We do either Gordon's honey-glazed ham or we do it in Coca Cola....both are lovely.
I wrap it loosely in foil, then roast it for one hour (unless its a very big piece, in which case do it for a bit longer). Allow to cool slightly, then cut the skin off with a sharp knife. Spread the fat with mustard, and then press brown sugar onto the mustard. Turn the oven up as high as it will go, then put the gammon back in till the sugar starts to bubble. Absolutely delicious hot or cold.
I wrap in foil and put boiling water around it (in the tin). Have to keep the water topped up though.) When it's cooked I remove any score, score it and cover it liberally with a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon and put it under the grill to brown.
The Coca Cola method is great, but don't use Diet Coke, it's awful! I boil it in ginger beer then before I roast it off, coat it in the syrup from a jar of crystallised ginger.
My daughter does hers in honey and stout. Not sure of amounts but it is very, very tasty.
